10 movies to watch when you want to be a parents

Couple weeks ago I watched movie trailer ‘Bad Moms’. My first thought was that it can be quite nice comedy for every Mothers. Then I realised that actually I have list of movies for every parents. I decided to share it with you.

From surrogates and unexpected pregnancies to teenage pregnancies, movies for mums-to-be, for whole families and both parents. I have compiled a list of 10 movies that will keep you entertained, make you smile and a little bit sad but certainly you will be moved and happy. Check them below. Also don’t forget to write in comments if you watched them and what do you think about that kind of movies:)

#1 What to Expect When You’re Expecting (2012)
The plot: Follows the lives of five interconnected couples as they experience the thrills and surprises of having a baby. Realize that no matter what you plan for, life does not always deliver what is expected.
Why I love it: I was laughing, crying and even my husband was watching it with me. Some of the situations are quite autentic.

#2 The Back-Up Plan (2010)
The plot: Zoe is a woman who has a hard time letting anyone into her life. She has a habit of pushing people away whenever they get close. She wants to have a baby but because she has no man in her life, she decides to be artificially inseminated. Shortly after having the procedure she meets a guy named Stan, and she feels a spark.
Why I love it: It’s nice to know that man can love babies even if they he is not biological father.

#3 Junior (1994)
The plot:
A dedicated research scientist gets much more than he bargained for. An enterprising gynecologist persuades him to become the first human test subject for a wonder drug that ensures healthy pregnancies.
Why I love it: It’s nice to see a pregnant man!

#4 Look Who’s Talking (1989)
The plot: After a single, career-minded woman is left on her own to give birth to the child of a married man, she finds a new romantic chance in a cab driver. Meanwhile, the point-of-view of the newborn boy is narrated through voice-over.
Why I love it: One of the most funniest movie! Sometimes I like to think that my son is talking something to me:)

#5 Juno (2007)
The plot: A tale told over four seasons, starting in autumn when Juno, a 16-year-old high-school junior in Minnesota, discovers she’s pregnant after one event in a chair with her best friend, Bleeker. In the waiting room of an abortion clinic, the quirky and whip-sharp Juno decides to give birth and to place the child with an adoptive couple.
Why I love it: When you are young it is really hard to be a mum. To be honest is hard in every age. When I was watching it I was happy that so young woman decide to not to get abortion.

#6 Knocked Up (2007)
The plot: For fun-loving party animal Ben Stone, the last thing he ever expected was for his one-night stand to show up on his doorstep eight weeks later to tell him she’s pregnant with his child.
Why I love it: First time I saw it when I was young and didn’t think about babies. Second time I was already pregnant and I had a great time. If you want to have a fun you should see it.

#7 Baby’s day out (1994)

The plot: Baby Bink couldn’t ask for more; he has adoring parents, he lives in a huge mansion, and he’s just about to appear in the social pages of the paper. Unfortunately, not everyone in the world is as nice as Baby Bink’s parents; especially the three enterprising kidnappers who pretend to be photographers from the newspaper. Successfully kidnapping Baby Bink, they have a harder time keeping hold of the rascal, who not only keeps one step ahead of them, but seems to be more than a little bit smarter than the three bumbling criminals.
Why I love it: You should watch it to see how little babies are creative πŸ˜‰ I’m quite scared πŸ˜€

#8 Three Men And A Baby (1987)
The plot: Three bachelor friends – architect Peter, artist Michael, and actor Jack are sharing an apartment in Manhattan. After Jack goes filming in Turkey his two flatmates find his baby daughter – which Jack doesn’t know about – left outside their door. The two are left to look after the baby, and realise how difficult this can be. How would this baby change the life style of these confirmed bachelors?
Why I love it: Can you believe that men can handle with baby? Yes, they can take care of baby and it’s look like is big fun for them:D

#9 Life as We Know It (2010)
The plot: Holly and Eric were set up on a blind date by their friends, Peter and Allison who are married. After Peter and Allison are killed in an accident, they learn that they have been named as the guardians to Peter and Allison’s daughter, Sophie. So they move into their house and try their best to honor their friends’ wishes. But raising a child puts a crimp on their style and they don’t exactly get along.
Why I love it: If you didn’t choose godparents for your baby you should watch it. It’s really important decision!

#10 Parenthood (1989)
The plot: The Buckmans are a midwestern family all dealing with their lives: estranged relatives, raising children, pressures of the job, and learning to be a good parent and spouse.
Why I love it: If you want to know how being parent can look like you should watch it with your partner.

So to watch them you should prepare tissues, popcorn, juice and someone who will share joy with you. Now question to all Mummies which movies did you enjoy watching during your pregnancy? Do you have anything to add to my list?

I guess I am pretty prepared. I have seen 8 out of 10. They are all pretty hilarious. Sad part is most of the stuff depicted is pretty true as I have witnessed it first hand with my sisters pregnancies. Oh how I wish men could bare children. I think I’ll wait til that day before having my own.
