How to be active when the weather is not best?
The most important thing is to stay warm and dry in cold weather. To make it possible you need to think about proper clothes. Is all about layers. It’s something that you really want to know if you wish to avoid hypothermia and frostbite. Cold temperatures, strong winds and damp conditions (like rain and snow) steal your body heat. And if you get wet that effect is only magnified. That’s why layers of clothing are so important. They help trap the heat and form a kind of insulation. In short, for your first layer, you should choose something that pulls moisture away from your skin, like the moisture wicking fabrics used in high-performance sportswear. I’ve never been a big fan of autumn. Everyone talks only about the bad weather and being depressed. But since I became a Mom and my son loves long walks I can see an autumn potential. We have now our favourite autumn activities like searching for treasures leaves, acorns, conkers etc. The only thing you need to do is to remember to wrap up warm and take wellies or other comfortable waterproof shoes. Autumn can be a really inspirational season for outdoor activities. And you can spend with your family a lovely time. Plus boost your immunity during cold and flu season if you will stay active. Just a few minutes a day can help prevent simple bacterial and viral infections.
Take a Hike
If you can access trails or a park, an autumn/winter walk is a great way to stay active with your family. During a long walk, you can play with games like ‘who will find the biggest stone’ or ‘who will find the most beautiful leaves’ and many more.
Leaf Print Painting
Go outside with your family and start searching for leaves. Small or big it doesn’t matter. Once the leaves have fallen, raking is good exercise.
And what you can do with them it will make your kids more than happy. Painting it’s always good fun.
Get the bikes out
And head out on lovely autumn bike rides. Admire the colours of the season. if you ride regularly you’ll get to see the leaves changing from green to gold.

What can be more fun at this time of year than kicking and throwing leaves in the air, gathering piles of leaves to climb on? Also, hiding in a leaves pile is fun and exciting.
You can hide little treasures like chestnuts or acorns and your kids will need to find them.
Pick a perfect pumpkin
Head to your local farm and have fun picking your perfect pumpkins. You will be surprised at how tired you will after that activity 😉 It’s not so easy to carrying or rolling a big pumpkin.
I’m not the biggest fan because of my asthma but it’s a really good activity. Start slowly with some very gentle running or even walking to ready the muscles for exercise. Gradually increase your pace until, after around 10 minutes, you get to the pace you’re going to maintain for most of the run.
Remember those regular activities can boost your mood which is really important during autumn. We all know that the weather can be quite depressing. Also, don’t forget about proper clothes when you go out.
