I know you are thinking ‘healthy Nutella? is it possible’? Yes, it is! And there is no sugar, palm oil or artificial flavor. I can’t blame people for being addicted from Nutella but they should know why it’s not good for them and there is a healthy replacement.
Want to know why you should delete it from your kid’s menu?
- Two tablespoons of Nutella contain 21 grams of sugar, the equivalent of 5 teaspoons of sugar
- Modified vegetable oils. These oils are highly processed and most commonly genetically modified
- A high sugar intake first thing in the morning will spike blood sugar levels, resulting in a plummet mid morning and contribute to poor concentration, hyper activity, and aggression.
- Soy Lecithin and Vanillin. These are probably the most dangerous ingredients found in Nutella. Soy lecithin, in particular, is bad for your health because it is a GMO product and leads to issues such as obesity, thyroid dysfunction, constipation, and breast cancer. Vanillin is used to create a flavor of true vanilla, but it is a cheaply produced chemical that contains MSG as well as small amounts of neurotoxins that can kill brain cells.
The only good ingredients in Nutella are hazelnuts. Therefore they are also high in calories and cannot reverse the negative effects of other Nutella’s ingredients.
So probably now you want to get my recipe for healthy Nutella? Here you go!
You need only 5 ingredients:
- 2 ripe avocados
- 2 ripe bananas
- cocoa powder
- honey
- nuts (or peanut butter)
Te only thing you need to do is mix all ingredients in a blender and voila!
Remember to keep it in the refrigerator because it’s natural without any preservatives.
It’s really tasty and you can give it to your kids without any guilt.
Also, it’s perfect for vegans and dairy, gluten free.
Bon appetit!

Thanks for sharing this. I had no idea that Nutella had all the GMO in it. I have stopped drinking and using soy products, but didn’t realize its in so many other items. I must read labels more correctly.

6 July 2017 at 09:25I am deathly allergic to peanut butter, so I would have to modify that step. Also just a word of advice, if you do make it with peanut butter and serve it to guests in your home, make sure you disclose that. I buy nutella in the store because it is made with hazelnut and that is 100% okay for me. I would hate to be in a situation where I assumed it was like normal nutella and that had to make a trip to the hospital.
6 July 2017 at 11:16WHAT?! I didn’t know you could make nutella at home!! Thank you so much I am certainly keeping this recipe for later.

I love that you made a healthier version of this because you are spot on about the ingredients! We have a nut allergy in our house so we usually don’t have any on hand.
